Max Bauer was born on 22.11.64 in Munich.
After training at the International School of Percussion Munich and completing a sound engineer course at the SAE Institute Munich, he worked for many years as a sound engineer, theatre and band musician in Europe and South America.
In 1993 he met the Foley artist Mel Kutbay in Munich and he worked as his assistant until 1996.
Since 1997 Max Bauer has been working as a freelance Foley artist and has been involved in over 300 national and international film productions.
As a sound designer and musician, he has worked in numerous theatre, musicals, performances and radio play projects. He is often on stage himself as a live Foley artist.
Max Bauer has been teaching for 20 years in various universities (e.g., Berlin University of the Arts, Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts Berlin, Munich Academy of Music…).
Max Bauer lives in Ebersberg near Munich.
